At the end of March, Deadline reported that Bruce Springsteen's album Nebraska would soon be adapted for the big screen. Entitled Deliver Me From Nowhere and inspired by the book of the same name by Warren Zanes, the film directed by Scott Cooper will bring to life the story of this cult album and the pivotal role it played in the Boss's career. One of the most bankable actors of the moment, Jeremy Allen White, was tipped to play the young Bruce Springsteen. The 33-year-old was still in negotiations until recently.
But it's now official: Jeremy Allen White will play The Boss in the film, Deadline has revealed. 20th Century and Disney Studio have also agreed to finance and release the film, which will start shooting this autumn.
"Warren Zane's 'Deliver Me From Nowhere' is one of the best books ever written about Bruce Springsteen and his music," said Jon Landau, the star's manager (via Variety). Bruce and I are happy that Scott Cooper has chosen to write and direct the film based on this book. We think it's the best book ever written about Bruce Springsteen and his music.
